They were celebrating in Cushendun on Sunday night after their club chairman John McSparran became the first north Antrim man to be elected chairman of the Antrim County board. John, an active member of the Emmets club, has held various positions within the club executive as well as managing the club's senior team and also refereeing extensively in north Antrim and in the county in general. All the gaels of north Antrim wish him and his new colleagues well in the year ahead.
